about this layout

This layout was completed on August 22nd of 2006.

"She sits alone by a lamp post, trying to find a thought that's escaped her mind. She says 'there's the one I love the most', but Stipe's not far behind. She lets me in only tell me where she's been, when she's had too much to drink. I say that I don't care I just run my hands through her dark hair and I pray to God you gotta help me fly away. And just let her cry, if the tears fall down like rain. Let her sing, if it eases all her pain. Let her go, let her walk right out on me. And if the sun comes up tomorrow, let her be ... let her be."

That, my friends, is the lovely lyrics from Let Her Cry, a song by Hootie and the Blowfish, one of my absolute favorites. I happened to get ahold of this song and at the same time, ran across these pictures from Getty Images and I just had to do a layout out of it. I'm not sure if I created an exact representation of the song in this layout, but I love the way it turned out, design-wise. It was originally going to be green, but the song sounded more blue and the smooth ghostly effect in the pictures only seemed to work right with orange, so I put two and two together and, viola!

I also decided to let the use of brushes stand out more. Thanks to Moargh.de for the gorgeous brushes and Hybrid-Genesis for the textures. And all in all lovely turn-out. The only thing that bothers me is that it literally took me forever to figure out what colors to use for the text. If this looks funny to you, you are more than welcome to change the colors to your taste, which you can do in the style.css file, but please only change the colors. If you're not sure how to do that, suggest you just leave it alone. Enjoy your new layout!
